(August Ludwig Carl Lemmer, geb. 03.03.1862 in Deutz, gest. 27.08.1933 in Karlsruhe, deutscher Maler. 1880 bis 1887 Studium an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, 1888 bis 1892 Studium an der Kunstakademie in Karlsruhe. Ein bevorzugtes Thema, das er in zahlreichen Varianten bearbeitete, sind Fischerboote vor der Küste Venedigs). Original-Ölgemälde von August Lemmer, links unten innerhalb des Bildbereichs in Schwarz signiert. Firnis altersbedingt gedunkelt, daher die Signatur nicht mehr deutlich lesbar. Rückseitig auf der Leinwand handschriftlich bezeichnet. Im vergoldeten Holzrahmen gerahmt. Nicht ausgerahmt. Maße Leinwand (rückseitig): ca. 51,0 x 40,0 cm. Maße Rahmen: 67,0 x 56,2 cm. Leinwand im Rahmen rückseitig mit grauem Silikon rundherum versiegelt. Rahmen an den Rändern mit Gebrauchsspuren, Holz dort teils gesplittert, rückseitig stärkere Gebrauchsspuren. Guter Zustand. Original oil painting by August Lemmer, signed at the lower left area in black. Varnish darkened due to aging, therefrom the signature not that clear anymore. Inscripted by hand on the backside of the canvas. Framed in a gilt wooden frame. Not examined out of frame. Canvas size (measurements from the backside): appr. 51.0 x 40.0 cm. Frame dimensions: 67.0 x 56.2 cm. Canvas sealed to the frame with grey silicone all around its margins on the backside. Frame with traces of use at the margins, wood partly splintered there, backside with significant traces of use. Good condition.
