Shooting script for the 1942 film. Copy belonging to actor Harry Holman, with his name on the front wrapper, his copious manuscript annotations throughout, and manuscript notation of the early working title "Purple on the Sage" on the front wrapper. Based on the series of novels by William Colt MacDonald. Three Mesquiteer Tucson is captured by an outlaw who assumes his identity to try and avoid capture. The first of the highly popular "Three Mesquiteers" B-movie Western series released by Republic to star Jimmie Dodd, who replaced Rufe Davis as "Lullaby" Joslin. Set in Holbrook, Colorado, shot on location at Iverson Ranch in California. Tall green titled wrappers, noted as SHOOTING SCRIPT on the front wrapper, marked as production No. 1211, dated June 24,1942, with credits for associate producer Lou Gray. Title page integral with the front wrapper, as issued. 72 leaves, with last page of text numbered 63. Mimeograph duplication, with blue revision pages throughout, dated 7-1-42.
