Es ist fein gefühlt, gut im Ausdruck - die Theaterwirkung, wie bei derlei Aufgaben immer, mehr praktisch als drastisch. Besonders auf einem solchen Circusterrain, wie das jetzige Haus, erwachsen einem solche große Schwierigkeiten, die kaum zu überwinden sind. Da gilt es aufmerksam, ungestört dem Worte zu lauschen - u. eine innere Wirkung zu empfangen [.]". - Der Sohn eines Kürschnermeisters debütierte am Theater an der Wien, trat am Brünner Stadttheater auf und kam 1858 ans Wiener Burgtheater, dessen Ensemble er von da an angehörte. "Der Publikumsliebling, der 1865 zum k. k.
