Ze publiceerde over collecties van vroeg-Byzantijns (?Koptisch?) textiel uit Egypte in Duitse musea. In 2011 doctoreerde ze aan de Freie Universität Berlin met de thesis Frühbyzantinische textile Kopfbedeckungen ? Typologie, Verbreitung, Chronologie und soziologischer Kontext. Samen met Antoine De Moor en Cäcilia Fluck is ze co-organisator van het tweejaarlijkse congres Textiel uit de Nijlvallei, dat plaatsvindt in HeadquARTers in Antwerpen. Momenteel is Petra onderzoeksassistente aan de Universiteit van Bonn, departement christelijke archeologie, en spitst haar werk zich toe op archeologisch textielonderzoek. In die hoedanigheid werkt ze mee aan twee projecten over Romeinse en vroegmiddeleeuwse plaatselijke textielvondsten.…
