Manuel Llauder kämpfte während Napoleons Feldzug auf der Iberischen Halbinsel auf spanischer Seite und diente ab 1817 als Brigadier in Katalonien. Er bekleidete im Laufe seiner Karriere hohe militärische Posten und politische Ämter. So war er beispielsweise 1823 Generalkapitän von Vasconadas, 1824 Gouverneur von Lérida, Generalinspektor der Infanterie im Mai 1825 und unter Beibehaltung dieses Postens der Generalkapitän von Aragon im Jahr 1830. Außerdem war er von 1830 bis 1832 Vizekönig von Navarra. Später, während des ersten Carlistenkriegs, war er Generalkapitän von Katalonien. 1834-35 wurde er zum Nationalhelden gewählt. 1845 wurde er zum Sentaor auf Lebenszeit ernannt.
