La débandade s'empara alors du groupe et on se mit à courir dans toutes les directions. Malheureusement même en essayant d'échapper à ce guet-apens tendu sur la chaussée, ils se rendront vite compte qu'ils étaient pris en tenaille quand d'autres soldats embusqués dans le bas-côté droit, sous les herbes, dans la partie située du côté de la Commune de Limete, surgirent eux aussi et commencèrent à tirer à bout portant sur des gens qui fuyaient déjà une fusillade les visant de dos. Enfin ils exécutaient cette option d'arrêter.
