Heraldisk exlibrisstempel på inderperm. * Louis Mandrin (1725-55) kaldes Frankrigs Robin Hood; han satte sig op mod de upopulære og brutale skatteindkrævere, der i dén grad udsultede den franske befokning. Han fik efterhånden bygget en hel lille hær op på 300 mand, men blev i 1755 fanget og henrettet ved radbrækning - til stor vrede hos befolkningen, der i vid udstrækning elskede ham som en helt. Han blev en forløber for den franske revolution og fx Voltaire satte ham meget højt. Hans historie har tilsyneladende også været kendt i resten af Europa, når man kan finde den oversat helt til Danmark.
