Condition: Gut. XV, 107 Seiten. Presented to the XXst International Congress of Orientalists, Paris 1948. - Vorwort in Englisch. Aus dem Vorwort:"Report on the Hebrew MSS in Hungary with special regard to the Fragments of the Cairo Genizah: The scholars surviving from the annihilated Jewry of a little European country take the liberty of reporting to the XXIst International Congress of Orientalists on what has remained over from the Hebrew and Hebrew-Arabic MSS in Hungary. We think to help on scientific research with our report, for the material in question is certainly worthy of attention. As early as 1943 the bibliography of the Jewish question in Hungary was drawn up by Michael Kolosvary-Borcsa who had a practical object in view which he was able to realize very soon. It was on the basis of his list that in 1944, during the German occupation of Hungary, the works of the Hungarian Jewish authors were sent to the stamping mill, quite on the pattern of the book-burning of Göbbels. In the same year a Jewish Research Institute was set up under Zoltán Bosnyák, which was, on the pattern of the similar German Institution at Frankfort-on-the Main, intended to comprise all the Hungarian Jewish libraries and MSS, that the students of antisemitic literature should dispose of a completely equipped arsenal." - Cover browned and with light edge. Pages browned. Apart from that in a good condition. he Gewicht in Gramm: 499 Gr. 8° (23 x 16 cm). Orig.-Broschur. [Softcover / Paperback].
