Contemporary full green leather, gilt, marbled edpapers and page edges, in tidy condition, a little rubbed and browned in places, Ashton, Burton Hall bookplate with the name Sam Ashton written in a couple of places. Original printed card cover bound in, folding colour frontis, title page, 2pp dedication, 10pp Memoir Of The Author, 11pp Poem, 6pp A New Song, 4pp Cottesmore Hunting Song, all pages printed with a green decorative border, text interspersed with small wood engravings relating to fox hunting, a number of blank pages bound in at the end. An uncommon edition, images available Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

Drop-head title, 8pp., small closed tear to lower margins, disbound. The Rev. Robert Lowth was a keen huntsman, it was while visiting Melton Mowbray and out with the Quorn Hunt, when he was an eyewitness to the celebrated run from Billesdon Coplow which he describes in this poem.
