Good with tears along edges, losses.Portrait of Anthony van Dyck, half-length seen from behind but looking over his shoulder towards the viewer; after Vorsterman who engraved Van Dyck's self-portrait; later state with title and added scratched letter at top.Copy at the British Museum.

With illustrations in text and 14 plates, with tissue-guards: 1 frontispiece-portrait engraved by Dezarrois, 1 lithograph by Fuchs, 8 other engraved plates by Flameng, Lafond, Jacquemart, De Los Rios, etc., 1 helio-engraving and 2 photo-engravings, all after Goya and 1 original etching, "Un Mendiant", long held to be by Goya, but nowadays we believe it to have been made by a follower quite close to Goya, possibly Eugenio Lucas. - pp. 99 - 188: "Catalogue raisonné de l'oeuvre peint et dessiné, de l'oeuvre gravé et de l'oeuvre lithographié. - Good copy of the only edition 1200g.

No Binding. Condition: Very Good. Maximilian I Holy Roman Emperor (1459 1519) [attributed to: Muller, Jan Harmensz] Dutch engraver & painter (1571-1628). Engraving & etching on paper trimmed to platemark (26 x 19.5 cm). [Amsterdam c 1600]. Laterally reversed copy of a bust portrait in three quarter view facing right after Lucas van Leyden (1494-1533) based on a woodcut portrait by Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528) to commemorate the Emperor s death in 1519. Maximilian is seen wearing a rimmed hat and the Order of the Golden Fleece round his neck; he is leaning on a window-sill decorated with a carpet showing Imperial arms and two floral de signs; monogram and date in plate upper right: a decorative figure with a horned head-dress holds a tablet marked L 1520 copied after the original monogram (Lucas van Leyden s signature & date of first version of printing 1520). Lucas van Leyden was the first northern artist to combine the two techniques in the same print.
