"Berlin seen through the eyes of the Americans" wrote the Berlin newspapers on the occassion of an exhibition of photographs at the Amerika-Haus. This volume contains the best of that exhibition, plus some never shown before. Most are full page, and are in stark black and white. Dust jacket has some edgewear and creasing; protected in removable mylar sleeve to prevent further wear. Book has only minor wear; mostly a clean, tight copy. Explanatory text in German and English.

Tony Vaccaro (1922 in Greensburg, Pennsylvania; 2022 in New York City) war ein US-amerikanischer Fotograf. Er war vor allem für seine zwischen 1944 und 1949 in Deutschland aufgenommenen Fotos bekannt. Nach dem Krieg war er ein bekannter Mode- und Lifestyle-Fotograf. Er wurde 1943 eingezogen und von der US-Armee 1944 nach Europa geschickt. Gegen Ende des Krieges war Vaccaro offizieller Fotograf für die Divisionszeitung. Bis 1949 fotografierte Vaccaro in Deutschland und Europa und dokumentierte so das Nachkriegsleben.
