Marbled endpapers, remnants of bookplate to FEP, small marginal holes to title page and initial leaf of text, light damp-staining to head of initial gathering, scattered spotting. The work, Machivelli's most extensive, charts the history of the city of Florence from its foundation to the death in 1492 of Lorenzo di Piero de' Medici. The book was commissioned by Pope Leo X in 1520 and in upon completion in 1525, officially presented to Pope Clement VII. Bertelli & Innocenti 106. Size: 12mo.
