Hardcover. Condition: Good. Elegant bottle green cloth boards with decorative, floral, tooled patterns and gilt (gold) titles; with similar design features along the spine. Marbled book edges and endpapers. Comprehensive, global coverage although the Great Britain section is one of the smaller ones. This is apparently due to contemporary legislation which prevented giving any illustrations of British stamps. Condition: boards are rubbed in places. Internally, the pages are mildly to moderately tanned with occasional spotting; more evident on the preliminary and final ones. There is also some persistent, if not continuous, pencil marking of many entries. It is discreetly done but nevertheless obvious in places - see image example. pp. 396 + publisher's lists. 16mo.
