The front, ink-stamped No. 0387, features the colour emblem of Abu Dhabi, and a form to enter name, father's name, date of birth, designation, distinguishing marks, address, and signature or LTI (Left Thumb Impression). The back includes space for the bearer's photo, the Palace Manager's signature, validity and renewal dates. Undated, but post 1968 when the emblem was introduced. This may be referencing the Qasr Al Hosn palace, which was used as the seat of Government until 1966. "Palace area" may therefore relate to the National Consultative Chamber building and environs which was built outside the Palace walls during 1968-70.
