En el capitulo I se presenta una serie de ejercicios tecnicos, que hemos denominado Modulos de Ejercitacion, entre los que se encuentra…n ejemplos de escalas, arpegios y progresiones de distinto tipo propuestos para la practica instrumental del estudiante. Las tonalidades y modos de las escalas y arpegios concuerdan con aquellos mas usados durante el apogeo de la flauta dulce en el Barraco.En los II y III contienen diversos estudios y piezas extraidos de dos importantes colecciones originales para flauta travesera: Solfeggi o "Ejercicios Diarios" de Federico el Grande y Caprices et autres pieces de Johann J. Quantz. Se encuentran aqui todo tipo de pasajes caracteristicos del estilo instrumental italiano y aleman del alto Barroco.En el IV se han reunido los 45 preludios originales para flauta dulce contralto deL'Art de Preluder (1719) de Jacques Hotteterre, que seran de gran utilidad para familiarizarse con el tipico estilo frances del Barroco y sus profusas ornamentaciones escritas. El capitulo V presenta, a manera de pequena antologia de solos, una serie de piezas de diversos autores de los siglos XVI, XVII y XVIII. Durante el Renacimiento y el Barroco era usual la ejecucion de una misma obra con distintos instrumentos. Telemann, Hotteterre y otros autores del siglo XVIII indicaron que las obras escritas para flauta travesera se transportaban una tercera menor superior para poder ser tocadas en flauta dulce contralto.Tambien podian realizarse adaptaciones entre instrumentos tan distintos como una viola dagamba y una flauta. Siguiendo este principia nos hemos permitido incluir en el capitulo VI algunos numeros transcriptos de las Suites para violoncelo solo de J. S.
