Sein Wissen und seine Belesenheit im juristischen Schrifttum waren nach zeitgenössischen Berichten außerordentlich. Seine größte Wirkung erreichte er durch die `Conclusiones practicabiles` (5 Bände, Leipzig 1615 bis 1619, später mindestens 11mal neu herausgegeben, zuletzt 1739), eine Darstellung des gemeinen Rechtes nach der Ordnung der sächsischen Konstitutionen von 1572. Beide Rechtsquellen werden unter Anführung praktischer Beispiele aus der Rechtsprechung zueinander in Beziehung gesetzt.
