Original vintage travel poster for French West Africa and French Equatorial Africa issued by Air France featuring a stunning design by Edmond Maurus (b. 1903) depicting a propeller Constellation plane flying over the minaret towers of the Djinguereber Mosque (built 1327; Unesco World Heritage Site 1988) madrasa / learning centre in Timbuktu Mali in the desert lit up dramatically in shades of red, orange and yellow by the sun rays shining from the distance, the bold white Art Deco style lettering below with the seahorse (pegasus / hippocampe aile) logo. Good condition, restored tears, restored paper losses on edges, backed on linen. Size: 99x63cm.
