Für Christoph Martin stellen die Bildunterschriften, die sich alle an Eluard und Gala zu richten scheinen, eines der schönsten Gedichte des Surrealismus dar. Dieser Spur ist der Komponist gefolgt. Er hat seine primäre Sozialisation in der Bildenden Kunst, und die Literaturwissenschaft hat sich bislang wenig um ihn gekümmert. Deshalb vorweg einige Erläuterungen zu dem Roman, in denen zugleich ein erster Aspekt der Relevanz der materialen und medialen Textdimensionen für die interpretatorische Praxis zur Sprache kommt. A well-presented reissue of the twelve issues of this journal of the Surrealist movement in France, printed in exact facsimile. Text in French. There is some pencil underlining and erudite pencil annotation on several pages translating into English and clarifying some of the obscurer passages. The final three pages have some discolouration to the lower edge. The jacket is sunned at the spine and frayed at the upper and lower edge, with some loss, and some closed tears (now protected in archival sleeve). Otherwise tight and good condition.
