In der Weimarer Republik, die er als Befürworter eines gegenrevolutionären ?Weißen Terrors? militant bekämpfte war er am Kapp-Putsch beteiligt und später als Waffenhändler und Militärberater in Spanien, Argentinien, der Sowjetunion und China tätig.
