Max Kappis (1881-1938), studierte in Tübingen und in Berlin und wurde 1905 in Tübingen promoviert. Er war von 1906-07 an der Medzinischen Klinik in Freiburg, 1907-22 als Assistent und Oerarzt an der Chirurgischen Klinik KIel tätig. 1913 habilitierte er sich für Chirurgie (1918 a.o.Prof.) und wurde 1922 leitender Arzt der Chirurgischen Abteilung des Städtischen Krankenhauses I in Hannover. Er machte sich insbesondere um die Ausbildung der Methoden der Lokalanästhesie und der Sympathikuschirurgie verdient. -cf.Fischer, p.738.
