An excellent opportunity to purchase a portrait of this distingushed personage. ca 1896/7. In 1859 Mr McAlpine entered Stirling Town Council and served for three terms, he later returned and served as Treasurer of the burgh from 1871-1874. In the latter year he was promoted to the magistracy, a positin he held for 5 years.
