Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. 1st Edition. FIRST MCCORMICK EDITION. 4to. (10.7 x 8.3 inches). Beautifully illustrated with 12 colour plates tipped in, all with tissue guards, on blue paper with gilt decorations. Fine contemporary leather binding of half navy blue morocco. Spine with raised bands. Compartments ruled, lettered and decorated in gilt. Gilt line at edges of leather. Blue cloth boards. Marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt. A bit of rubbing to the edges but overall this is a lovely, attractive copy. The binding is unsigned but is certainly the work of a master bookbinder. --- More photos available on request.
