Beautifully engraved by John Rogers (1800? - 1882) after a painting by John McNevin. Image measures…6 1/2" X 4 1/4" (14" x 11" matted). Clean sharp nicely colored image, matted in white stock with clear mylar. Trained in Dublin, Ireland, John McNevin did a series of paintings of the 1851 Crystal Palace Exhibition, then served as a pictorial reporter for Illustrated London News during the Crimean War and eventually immigrated to New York where he was an in-house artist and illustrator for Harper's Weekly.

Taylor of New York and William H. Taylor of Albany that gives some background information about this book. Contents are titled as follows: "A Runlet of Ale" by Gray, "Ale: Antiquarian, Historical and Literary" by Savage, and "Albany Ale: An Account of the Rise and Progress of the Brewery of John Taylor & Sons, Illustrated, With a Biographical Sketch of the Founder.".
