Six original bright colored mini portfolio wraps with decorative framing and black lettering on covers. The portfolios house a total of 60 pairs of stereoscopic images, reproduced in b/w and printed on glossy photo paper. Complete as published. Note: All portfolios advertise "No. 1 Karlsbad im Stereoskop" on the inside flap though there are no records of that publication in OCLC. Stereoscopic images are pairs of separate images, depicting left and right eye views of the same motif. They can be viewed with a stereoscope producing a single three-dimensional image. A German version called "Helioplast" was offered prior to the publications of these series. Serie 1 + 2. Pompeji I + II. Rose and pink colored portfolios with twelve page descriptive pamphlets for each of the ten pairs of images per portfolio. The images depict various views of the Pompeii Forum, the Capitoium, the Temple of Jupiter, the Mecellum, the Apollo Temple, the Porta Marina, the temples of Zeus and Isis, the theaters, and other places of interest. Advertisements of other series and the Helioplast viewer on inside and back covers. All plates with images are numbered with captions relating to the elaborate descriptions in the pamphlets. Portfolios with some wear along edges and sunned at spine. Most tearing and/or rubbing along hinges of portfolios has been professionally repaired and/or reinforced with Japan tissue. Serie 3 + 4. Die Schweiz I + II. Aquamarine and pink colored portfolios with twelve page descriptive pamphlets for each of the ten pairs of images per portfolio. The images depict the Teufelsbrücke (Devil's Bridge), the Hotel Prosa, the Gotthard Pass. the mills at Airolo, the Rhone and other glaciers featured in the second volume. Advertisements of other series and the Helioplast viewer on inside and back covers. Portfolios with some wear along edges and sunned at spine. Most tearing and/or rubbing along hinges of portfolios has been professionally repaired and/or reinforced with Japan tissue. Serie 5 + 6. Klassische Skulptur I + II. Yellow and rose colored portfolios with twelve page descriptive pamphlets for each of the ten pairs of images per portfolio. The images depict Nike of Delos, a female runner, the gable of the Temple of Zeus, the Eleusinian Relief, Athena, the Ceres statue at the Vatican, a boy praying, a Borghesian Fencer, Aphrodite, among others.
