Johann Nepomuk Cosmas Michael Denis, auch Sined der Barde (1729-1800), österreichischer katholischer Priester, Schriftsteller, Übersetzer, Bibliothekar und Zoologe. Im ganzen deutschen Sprachraum bekannt wurde er durch die erste deutsche Übersetzung der Werke "Ossians" (1768/69), die als angebliche Werke eines gälischen Barden begeistert in ganz Europa aufgenommen wurden, jedoch eine zeitgenössische Erfindung des Schotten James Macpherson waren. Bll., XXXI, 200 S., XLVII, 215 S., CXLIII, 132 S., S. 141-176 (Ss. 133-140 fehlen), mit je e. gestochenen Titelblattvignette (J. Adam fec.), zwei gestochenen Schlussvignetten u. e. gestochenen Kopfstück, sowie einigen Zierleisten. Lederband d. Zeit, zwei Rückenschildchen u. girlandenartige Rückenverzierung in Goldprägung, Einbanddeckel mit Streicheisenlinien gerahmt, gut erhalten, Ecken etwas bestoßen. Seiten kaum vergilbt oder fleckig. Mit verschiedenen handschriftlichen Besitzvermerken u. e. kleinen Stempel (Sammlung Heimeran) am vorderen Vorsatz.
