First edition of the founding edict of 'Cacciatori Volontari', a light infantry company detached from the regiment, under Ferdinand III. The purpose of this infantry company is to maintain law and order within the city of Livorno. They are strictly organized, divided into six companies and regulated by the head of the government of the city of Livorno. The organisational structure is given, together with their enrolment, uniforms and pay, and their privileges. There was apparently another issue the same year, printed 'presso la societa tipografica', but this appears to be a special printing, on strong light blue paper, and, most unusual for a publication in wrappers, with all edges gilt.

Original prospectus for the front wheel tanks designed by J. Walter Christie and built by his Front Drive Motor Company. 12 original silver gelatin photographs, all canvas-backed and all mounted to stubs, There are 6 pairs of photographs that all face each other (tad unusual). All measure 9 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches. Three more photographs of the same vehicle laid in to the rear. In the original binder of flexible black morocco, gilt lettering to the front. The short-lived Hoboken-based Front Drive Motor Company was founded in 1912 by J. Walter Christie, an American inventor and early automotive engineer. Early in his invention of front wheel drive vehicles he was focused on automobile racing. He entered his car at various speedways in the United States, including the Readville Race Track and the 1905 Vanderbilt Cup race. He also He was the first American to compete in the 1907 French Grand Prix: the V4 engine of 19,891 cc that powered his vehicle was the largest ever used in a Grand Prix race. In the same year as the Grand Prix, he was severely injured when his car struck loose debris during a lap at Brunots Island Race Track in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After failing to find a practical use for his patented front-wheel drive system at the early auto-races, Christie realized the technology would likely be a perfect fit for military vehicles and tanks, providing grip and reliability on uneven terrain. Together with the patented "Christie Suspension," his tanks were able to move at greater speeds than most available at the period and included this technology until his death in 1944. He is also credited with the invention of a few other devices, including a flying car and a remote-controlled gun turret. The album chronicles the tanks' capabilities, picturing them moving through deep marshes; over hedgerows and large piles of debris; and along rutted dirt roads. Several of the images highlight the vehicles' suspension components. Several of the images highlight the vehicles' suspension. While the Army never adopted any of his tank designs as standard he is credited with developing a four-wheel-drive truck for General Pershing and his staff in 1916 and for the first amphibious tank, which swam across the Hudson River in 1923. His Christie suspension system was later used for several World War II-era tank designs, most notably the Soviet BT and T-34.
