Not one but two dust jackets. The outer dust jacket has a photograph of John Gielgud as Hamlet on the front and quotes from various theater critics on the back. The back flap has quotes from the Shakespeare Club of New York City, Harvard, Princeton, and Duke universities, and the University of Pennsylvania. The dust jacket under the first has no illustration but offers the Harvard University quote on the front along with statements "John Gielgud is now playing in New York" and "Leslie Howard opens in Philadelphia on October 26th." The remaining quotes from the outer dust jacket back flap are on the front flap; and back section and back flap are blank. The author, Mona Morgan (1895-1959), was an theater actress in the 1910s and 1920s, appearing in a number of Broadway productions. She also had a program on the radio in 1922 "Interpretation of Shakespeare by Miss Mona Morgan," described as "one of the foremost interpreters of Shakespearian dramas." In 1927 she was vice president of the International Shakespeare Association. Book is in Fine Condition: clean and bright. Outer dust jacket is in Good Condition: soiled; dampstain at head of back flap fold; rubbed at ends of spine and corners. Inner dust jacket is in Very Good Condition: 2 closed tears of 1 cm. or less; small dampstain at head of back flap fold; otherwise, clean.
