Condition: Very Good. Second Printing. Stunning Japanese flower arrangements, with both a wide range of styles and sublime, subtle variations of styles. And enhancing the beauty often is the vase or planter serving as the base for the arrangement, and sometimes instilling the illusion of a self-contained dream world made up of the plants and flowers within. Clamshell box: 24.5 by 17 cm, and it is 5 cm thick. The book itself is 22 by 15 cm. Title page, preface -- one page facing title, followed by 50 different flower arrangements, with the name of the arrangement and a brief discussion on a left page, the color plate depicting the arrangement on the facing right page. Some scattered light foxing, as can be seen in the copious photos. Otherwise, a special copy of this work with its custom box and all. Custom Clamshell case: Buckram cloth spine, marbled paper pastedown elsewhere. The book proper: Cloth boards, no spine as such since the book is in an orihan, or concertina/accordian format. Silk pasted onto exterior boards of the concertina.
