    Hardcover. Condition: Good. Small quarto. 8pp., printed one side only. Eight pages with full hand-coloured images-sometimes more than one to a page-all of which bear movable features. These are manipulated through paper tabs toward the bottom of the illustration. The particular craftsmanship of this volume lies in the multiple movables per single tab. The book features advertisements for other Dean & Son works as endpapers. Bound in original pictorial paper covered card wrappers. These are a little chipped around the edges and lower corners heavily worn. Eight moveables as follows: Old Mother Hubbard went to the Cupboard: Working order but does have repairs on verso, sellotape has been used to repair it. There is also a 1cm tear near the tab; She went to the Bakers : Working order. 1.5cm Tear by tab; She went to the Undertakers Missing pieces and a dogs head has been crudely drawn. The moveable has been attempted to work with card.Sellotape used again on verso.; She went to the Tavern Working order She went to the Hatters Trying to work . Heavy card has been stuck onto the original tab which is still there. I suspect sellotape has been used but I can t see it.; She went to the Tailors Two of the four pieces, dogs, head and arm are missing. An attempt has been made to mend it but it doesn t work. Again sellotape used. ; She went to the Hosiers In working order but crude repairs on verso with sellotape. Small tear by tab. The Dames made a Curtsy In working order but old crude repairs on verso with paper. Small tear by tab.An acceptable copy of a rare book. I am happy to send more photos upon request. Size 27 x 19cm (7.5 x 9inches).

    Pictorial boards, red cloth spine, floral end papers. Printed in Bavaria. Ten leaves, eight are revolving pictures with small ribbon pulls. Restoration to the inner hinges and inner spine, most or all the plates remounted. A couple of short repaired tears in the margins. Expert restoration, a very nice and clean copy, all the pictures revolve beautifully.

[16], with six movable chromolithographic plates with tab-operated transformational slats, black & white pictorial title page and numerous text illustrations (one full page), floral patterned endpapers. Red cloth-backed pictorial glazed papered boards. HInges with expert repair that's nearly imperceptible; some grubbiness to pulls; frames with short, closed tears; contemporary name and address in pencil on front free endpaper. Withal, a handsome copy. A novelty animated function whereby illustrations transform from one image to another by pulling or removing lower tab. The cover image by Beatrix Potter was an early appearance by the illustrator, preceded by only A Happy Pair, 1890. A well preserved copy of a late-Victorian charmer.
