In sericulture, Entrepreneurs can be silkworm rearers i.e., chawki rearers, cocoon growers, seed producers, reelers, weavers etc. Entrepreneurship can be defined by describing what entrepreneurs do. For example, "Entrepreneurs use personal initiative and engage in calculated risk-taking, to create new business ventures by raising resources to apply innovative new ideas that solve problems, meet challenges, or satisfy the needs of a clearly defined market". But as the following definition states, entrepreneurship is not restricted to business and profit but Entrepreneurship involves bringing about change to achieve some benefit. This benefit may be financial but it also involves the satisfaction of knowing that you have changed something for the better. Entrepreneurship is essentially the act of creation requiring the ability to recognize an opportunity, shape a goal, and take advantage of the situation. Entrepreneurship plans, persuades, raise resources, and give birth to new ventures. The term 'Entrepreneur' is often used interchangeably with 'Entrepreneurship', but conceptually they are different, yet they are just like two sides of a coin. 'Entrepreneur' refers to a person while 'Entrepreneurship' refers to the function. Entrepreneur and Entrepreneurship are positive and valued oriented concepts. Entrepreneurship development is a systematic and organized effort of human development. It is a process of enhancing the motivation, knowledge, and skills of the potential entrepreneurs arousing and reforming entrepreneurial behaviour. In Entrepreneurship Development, persons are prepared to face business uncertainty and risks. Thus, it is said that Entrepreneurship are not born; they can be developed through trainings.

Soft cover. Condition: New. Silkworm has high importance in agriculture and its allied fields. Breeding and Genetics have played an important role to increase domesticated animal production. Also, silkworm genetic, history and present situation of silkworm breeding, as well as mulberry breeding, aims in different fields and selection tools in silkworm breeding, silkworm hybrids, mating systems, and correlation of heritability and other characters in silkworm are reviewed. Sericulture is one of the great inventions of the Chinese people and has become an important cultural and integrated section in the Indian economy as well. As India is the long-lasting center of silk production, ranking on number second in the global production, breeding and genetics of silkworm was highly developed historically and has formed a comprehensive system for breeding and preservation of new varieties. Central Sericulture Germplasm Resource Center (CSGCR) Hosur, India serves as the hub of the genetic stock of mulberry as well as silkworm genotypes. However, silkworm breeding reached a bottleneck recently, because most of the traditional genetic resources have been utilized and silkworm strains have become homogeneous. Meanwhile, sericulture in India meets huge challenges in the 21st century. In recent years, with the development and rapid applications of molecular biology, genomics, transgenes and genome editing, silkworm and mulberry genetics and breeding have entered a new era. In this book, we summarize the development of silkworm and mulberry breeding and genetics, especially the progress and perspective of transgene and genome editing in the genetic engineering of silkworms and mulberry. Mulberry (Morus L.) is an economically important tree being cultivated for its leaves to rear the silkworm, Bombyx mori. Rearing of the silkworm is an art and science popularly known as sericulture; an agro-based cottage industry provides employment to millions in China, India, Korea, Vietnam, etc. Mulberry is a perennial tree that maintains high heterozygosity due to the outbreeding reproductive system. It is recalcitrant to most of the conventional breeding methods, yet considerable improvement has been made in leaf yield and leaf quality. Conventional breeding in mulberry is a tedious, labour intensive, and time taking process, which needs to be complemented with modern biotechnological methods to speed up the process.

Soft cover. Condition: New. Sericulture, or silk farming, is the cultivation of silkworms to produce silk. Although there are several commercial species of silkworms, Bombyx mori (the caterpillar of the domestic silkmoth) is the most widely used and intensively studied silkworm. Silk was believed to have first been produced in China as early as the Neolithic Period. Soil science is the study of soil as a natural resource on the surface of the Earth including soil formation, classification and mapping; physical, chemical, biological, and fertility properties of soils; and these properties in relation to the use and management of soils. This book is helpful for Sericulture UG, PG and Ph.D. Students. This book also gives detail information related to Sericulture and Soil Science. To establish sericulture project, this book is very helpful. The book is prepared according to the syllabus of Jammu University. As students were struggling to find the syllabus, so we have prepared it for easiness of students.

Soft cover. Condition: New. Understanding various medical sciences, such as drug development, immunology, pathology, pharmacy, vaccine development, etc., requires a thorough understanding of biochemistry. A branch of study called molecular biology investigates biology at the molecular level. Through the use of biological methods mixed with concepts from Genetics and Biochemistry, Molecular Biologists are able to integrate Biology and Chemistry, specifically Genetics and Biochemistry. The composition, structure, function, and relationships of cellular elements such proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, and nucleic acids that are in charge of carrying out biological activities are also studied by molecular biology. The study of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) and proteins, which are created utilising the genetic information recorded in DNA and RNA, lies at the heart of molecular biology. Protein purification, perfusion, homogenization, differential centrifugation, LDH enzyme assays, protein assays, characterising LDH, Western blotting, gel filtration chromatography, protein crystallography, PCR, Ligation and transformation, selection and screening, and enzyme kinetics are all examples of biochemistry techniques. The current book contains ready-to-use content that is extremely important to readers, authors, researchers, businesspeople, and academicians. This book's primary goal is to provide readers with a comprehensive understanding of the numerous biochemical procedures typically employed in molecular biology and genetic research.
