2015 Boijmans van Beuningen Rotterdam, hardcover, 96 pages, illustrated. Chewing Gum Monuments Âis a 2015 publication featuring the ceramic sculptures of American artist Ron Nagle, created in conjunction with his solo exhibition at Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam. The book showcases Nagle's distinctive small-scale ceramic sculptures that measure only 10 to 15 centimeters in size, characterized by unconventional compositions of textures, unusual forms, and intense colors. These meticulously crafted works combine ceramic with materials like catalyzed polyurethane and epoxy resin, creating surreal miniature landscapes that evoke both otherworldly domains and familiar California culture, drawing inspiration from sources ranging from Japanese Momoyama ceramics to American hot-rod car culture.
