A detailed military history of The Grenadier Guards, the most senior infantry regiment of the British Army, during the Second World War in which the regiment was expanded to six service battalions. Volume one focuses on the campaigns in North-West Europe, with chapters on the British Expeditionary Force, Normandy, the Pursuit to Brussels, the Battle of Nijmegen, Holland, through the Siegfried Line, and the crossing of the Rhine into Germany. Volume two contains information on the Mediterranean Campaigns, with chapters on the early struggles in Tunisia, the Anzio beach-head, Cassino to Florence, the Northern Apennines, and the last phases in Italy. Written by Captain Nigel Nicolson and Patrick Forbes of the Grenadier Guards. Int he original blue cloth binding. Externally, very smart with minor rubbing and bumping to the extremities.
