The author utilizes the church as a lens to examine local cultural and religious practices throughout the centuries. This book provides a detailed study of the church's restoration in 1870, which uncovered a remarkable collection of medieval murals and a series of Old English inscriptions that are believed to date back to the Reformation. The book also chronicles the history of the parish from its earliest days, including the lives of its notable rectors and churchwardens, as well as the social and economic history of the community. Additionally, it provides an overview of the church's notable stained glass windows and other architectural features. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
