Catalogue of the 1925 Budapest exhibition of Abel Pann, presenting the work of the Jerusalem-based Jewish artist to a Hungarian audience. Abel Pann (1883-1963), born Abba Pfeffermann in Latvia, studied art in Odessa and Paris before settling in Jerusalem, where he joined the faculty of the Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts. He became particularly known for his depictions of biblical subjects, for which he used the people and landscape of contemporary Palestine as visual models. The present catalogue accompanied a retrospective exhibition of Pann's work in Budapest in 1925. It includes nine plates reproducing his works and documents the early reception in Hungary of an artist closely associated with the development of Jewish art in Mandatory Palestine. .
