Add to basketPaperback. Condition: New. Print on Demand. This book details the work carried out by the author in the Railway Belt of British Columbia between the Kootenay and Salmon Arm bases, as part of a wider survey of the Dominion Lands system. Its main focus is the triangulation of mountain peaks to provide reference points for the subdivision of lands in the remote mountainous regions of British Columbia. The project encompassed the measurement of two accurately established bases and observations for latitude and longitude at terminal points. The triangulation, controlled by these bases, was accomplished using a direction theodolite to measure horizontal and vertical angles, and azimuth observations were also taken at several stations. After careful analysis of discrepancies and closings usually met with in the angular measurements, the author presents the triangulations, adjusted to the Dominion Lands System. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
