    Deluxe edition, the trade edition appeared in 1946. One of 65 copies signed by both Braque and his friend the author Paulhan, and printed on velin du Marais, this no. 39. (A further 25 copies were printed on velin d'Arches with an additional signed lithograph). 2 original lithographs designed by Braque especially for this edition being the three-colour lithograph on the wrappers and the two-colour lithograph on the first page of the text. 57 superb tipped-in plates, one in colour, which reproduce several of Braque's paintings. Tall quarto, in the original lithographed Braque wrappers, housed in the original blue cloth and paper backed white chemise and blue slipcase (the latter is rather worn but intact), some wear with a tear on bottom left hand corner of wrappers, very clean internally being largely an unopened copy.
