The Manchester Pelican Press catalogue notes that pages [i-ii] have been removed from their copy and the same is the case here.

The Written Word and the Printed Word is by Stanley Morison - with (very possibly) unauthorized alterations by Francis Meynell. There was a second printing in 1927 on Basingwerk Parchment with some additional typefaces - but I consider this the better edition of the most striking mid-sized English specimen book of the period.
