Seller: Nevermore Rare Books, Wallingford, CT, U.S.A.
Rare vintage 2nd volume from the World Wide Publishing Company's Mystery Double Deck Series. This volume contains Edgar Wallace's "The Thief in the Night" and Percy Heath's "Slightly Scarlet." The book is undated but circa about 1930. It is generally in Good condition seeing as it appears to have been cheaply printed. The covers have some mild wear. The binding is very tight, so this wouldn't make a good reading copy as it would require forcing the book open more than it naturally wants to go which would most likely result in damaging the binding. A few pages at the rear of the book have a very tiny chip to the bottom corner and there is a small tear towards the top of the front & back pastedowns near the hinge. The interior is tanned from age but generally nice and clean, though there may be the very occasional page with some kind of minor imperfection such as a light bit of foxing or grubbiness, creased page corner, tiny chip or tear, minor stain or marking, etc. The book comes in its original dustjacket which is in Very Good- condition with some small chips and tears and a tiny bit of old dried adhesive towards the top & bottom edge. The jacket comes in a protective removable mylar wrapper. The actual maroon cloth covers of the book only have some minor wear. The book measures approximately 6 5/8 inches by 4 1/4 inches and is 183+184 pages long. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
