Dust jacket is age darkened and is missing tiny sliver at top of spine. It is not price clipped (5s.net price) and is protected by archival mylar. The text is clean and the binding is tight. The authors were French Huegenot refugees who taught French in London in the later years of the reign of Queen Elizabeth I, As described in the jacket blurb, "The book gives a picture of home and school life in Shakespeare's day which is unique of its kind.".

One of 725 numbered copies printed at the Westminster Press on all-rag paper. Endpapers toned, rear flyleaf has a 1.5 inch tear, last page of text roughly opened, edgewear and moderate soiling to boards, still a near very good copy of a charming book, in archival mylar.

Original brown cloth binding. No dust jacket. Year: Circa 1910-1920 (exact year not stated in images; early 20th century Cobden-Sanderson issue) Condition: Good. Spine shows noticeable rubbing and wear, particularly at head and tail. Cloth faded and marked. Corners lightly bumped. Page edges age-toned. Internally sound and complete. Moderate foxing throughout, heavier on some leaves. Binding remains firm. A solid working copy of a scarce Cobden-Sanderson imprint.
