First edition. Publisher's pictorial paper covered boards with a maroon cloth spine. Illustrated on every page with fluid, lively colour illustrations that are characteristic of the era. A very good copy, the binding firm, the spine tips and board corners a little rubbed, and some spotting to the boards and pastedowns. The contents with the occasional foxing spot are otherwise clean throughout. An attractive picture book that shows the influence that the dynamism of early 20th century animated cartoons had on book illustration. The author-artist Peter Thornhill was also a naval officer.
