Condition: Wie neu. Ein gutes und sauberes Exemplar. Am Pfingstsonntag, dem 30. Mai 1993, wurde der nach fast zwanzigjähriger Bauzeit von seinen schweren Kriegsschäden wiederhergestellte evangelische Dom im Berliner Lustgarten festlich eingeweiht, und damit nicht nur das größte Gotteshaus Berlins, sondern auch einer der bedeutendsten Sakral- und Innenräume aus der Zeit des Historischen Stiles der Öffentlichkeit wieder zugänglich. Der vorliegende Aufsatz über den der Fertigstellung entgegengehenden Dom erschien ein Jahr vor dessen erster Einweihung. Wie die Bilder zeigen, war der wilhelminische Prunkbau damals im Äußeren bereits vollendet und forderte Gegner und Freunde zur Kritik oder Zustimmung auf. Die heftige Kritik an dem von Anfang an umstrittenen Bauwerk bildete auch den Grund für die Abfassung dieses Artikels, denn der Verfasser war ein naher Freund der Familie Raschdorff. Einen Freundesdienst an seinem alten Lehrer leistet Walle mit dem Lebensabriß Julius Raschdorffs in der vorliegenden Abhandlung. Allerdings überlebte der Dombaumeister, am 2. Juli 1823 in Pleß in Oberschlesien geboren, seinen Schüler noch um ein Jahrzehnt - er verstarb erst am 12. August 1914 im Sanatorium Waldsieversdorf bei Bad Buckow in der Märkischen Schweiz. Wie sehr die Wandlung des Kunstempfindens sich auch in der Architektenschaft bemerkbar machte, zeigen die nachstehenden, kritisch distanzierten Zeilen aus dem Nachruf der "Deutschen Bauzeitung" auf Julius Raschdorff: "Mit ihm ist ein außerordentlich fruchtbarer Baukünstler dahin gegangen, der in seinen Anfängen, die dem Geiste der Kunst der deutschen Vergangenheit angehörten, viel versprach und dessen erste Werke das glückliche Gepräge der nationalen Wandlung und des Aufschwunges nach der Mitte des 19. Jahrhunderts zeigten und auch persönlichen Charakter besaßen. Bei dem ersteren aber blieb er stehen und den letzteren hat er nicht weiterentwickelt, so daß sein Hauptwerk, der Berliner Dom, bei aller Größe der Auffassung, der altruistischen Rücksicht auf die Umgebung wie der künstlerischen Fortentwicklung und des starken individuellen Gehaltes entbehrte. The ECOMAC project investigated how companies are using or intend to use environ­ mental costs and benefits figures in support of their decisions, and what they have been doing to remedy the limitations of conventional management accounting in this area. The research was largely explorative in nature, but the project also produced a structured overview of the subject and made suggestions and recommendations as to how compa­ nies could improve their own environmental accounting.
