Max Philpot was a Scottish writer and poet, but unfortunately we have no other information. This is a collection of over eighty poems, many of which had previously appeared in the pages of various Scottish newspapers and magazines. The book is bound in the original red cloth covered boards with gold titling on the spine and front board. The case of the book is in very good condition with some shelf wear on the boards. The spine is noticeably faded and the spine ends are lightly bumped. The contents are tight and clean with foxing on the fore edge of the text block. On many pages the foxing has seeped a little way into the fore margin. There is no inscription.
