Revised & expanded edition of the famed photographer's handbook on lighting and composition for nude glamour photography. Bernard (1912-1987) after attending UC Berkeley apprenticed with Max Reinhart's Actor's Workshop, collaborated with pin-up artist Alberto Vargas developing his own unique glamour portrait, the "posed candid," and was well known for helping launch the career of the young Norma Jean Daughterty, Marilyn Monroe.

Original publisher's plastic comb binding at upper fore-edge, w/ original Vargas illustrated mailing envelope, w/ pin-up on front (minor tear at lower left corner), still NF/VG- copy. First edition of this nicely executed calendar of post-World War II Varga pin-up girls, featuring the complete year for 1946. These were also published as a portfolio in green-cloth boards simultaneously, to be divided up for framing.
