First Edition
Paperback. Condition: Good. First Edition. Paperback, 15" tall by 22" wide, engraved title page and 65 engraved illustrations. Very good restored condition: our binder restored some loss to the corners of the original wraps and title page, restored the spine, and rebound the pages. Plain olive wraps with one small old label to front cover, page corners have some wrinkling & soiling from use. All images are clean & bright. Bartolomeo Pinelli Romano was a prolific engraver & artist of the 18th and 19th centuries. This book is his engravings inspired by Cervantes' Don Quixote. In a modern sense, it can be seen as a forerunner to graphic novels. The illustrations capture the adventure and the humor of the story, and this Romano's work should be considered one of the great Quixote illustrated adaptations. Extra postage required for international or expedited shipping.
