Hardcover. Condition: VG. Dust Jacket Condition: VG. 1st. A description of this publication printerd on the title page reads:"An alphabetical list of every Post Office, Telephone office or Telegraph Office ever open under the control of the New Zealand Post Office, with dates of opening, closure or name change, along with location and also references to influence in placenames." Stated below is a note that information in the book is corrected to 31 January 1977. In his introduction the author gives an informative history of post and telegraph services in NZ as well as directions for using the book, with an abbrevitiions list. a section on place names and a map showing NZ postal districts, four b/w photographs of PO related scenes appear on pages 178-179. This is a scarce book, this copy from a limited edition of 1000 copies. First published in 1977 by the Postal History Society of NZ as its 13th handbook, 241 pages, text material is from typewritten manuscript presented on double sided pages. This an ex-library copy. Blue hard covers with gilt front titles are VG with few old trape marks to both boards, two on front pastedown. repeated on rear pastedown and end-paper, FFEP a has been removed. Library markings are mainly on the title page which has two "withdrawn" stamps, tipped in issue sheet and crossed barcode lower corner, The title page verso has a library code stamp lower centre, otherwise library markings are confined to occasional small stamps in the top corner margin, otherwise the text block is VG+. The pictorial dust jacket with six photographs of NZ post offices is VG+, being protected by clear plastic sheet, with two small library stickers at jacket spine base. This book is 1.2kgs unpacked and would probably require additional postage for international delivery.
