Margaret Ramshaw of Bishop Auckland married the industrialist William George Armstrong (1810-1900), 1st Baron Armstrong, in 1835. She played an important role in the design of the gardens at Jesmond Dene, the couple's house in Newcastle, and later at Cragside, which is now a National Trust property. 2pp., 12mo. Bifolium. She asks 'Messrs Carr' (proprietors of the Newcastle Daily Journal) to 'reserve a Copy of the particulars connected with the death of the late Duke of Northumberland, which will be called for at the Journal Office'. She also 'wishes the following notice to be inserted in the Journal - | At Rock Cottage Jesmond Dene nr Newcastle - Died on the 22nd. of Decr. 1865 - Mr. John Pratt. Aged 53 years. Much respected, & long in the service of Sir William Armstrong's family.'.
