He explained in simple poetic style of Aataveladi which no other author had dealt with. Similarly, the related method of meditation, Awareness, which Vemana called Eruka, was never explained by any author in such a simple style so far. Many non-Telugu speakers have shown interest in knowing Vemana's views on these subjects. This book fills the void and so deals with translation of original Vemana poems on these important philosophical aspects while the related Telugu poems are also listed in foot-note. In addition to the above, Vemana's well known poems on Caste discrimination, Rebuttal of Vedic Rites and Idolatry are translated into English. The popular moral aspects on rightful living are also included. The satirical way in which Vemana exposed the evils of the society will be definitely appreciated by lovers of Vemana Poetry. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Prof. G. Siva Reddy worked as a Professor of Chemistry in the erstwhile Sri Venkateswara University Post-graduate centre, Cuddapah (A.P.) during the period 1981-2007. He was also its Special Officer during the period 2005-06 and the centre was upgraded into Yogi Vemana University in 2006. He was instrumental in naming the University after Vemana. He worked as the co-ordinator of the committee constituted for drafting Statutes and Regulations for the newly established University. He published nearly 50 Publications in International journals. The areas of research include Analytical Chemistry, Electronic Spectra of Minerals and Mineral Beneficiation. 1,25,000 Booklets in Telugu and 10,000 booklets in Kannada on Vemana were printed and distributed free of cost in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka. Another book in Telugu entitled, "Vemana Viswam" was published by Vemana Foundation, Anantapur. He was instrumental in establishing a Womens Hostel for collegiate students at Cuddapah.
