Werinbau-Inspektorates bezüglich Reblausschäden. --- Franz Kober (1864-1943) besuchte in Klosterneuburg das Oenologische und Pomologische Institut an der Weinbauschule. Im Jahre 1893 wurde er beim Ministerium für Land- und Forstwirtschaft Leiter der Bekämpfung der Reblaus für Niederösterreich mit Sitz in Klosterneuburg. In einem Weingarten des Klosterneuburger Weinbauinstituts selektierte er einige Unterlagsreben und entwickelte in Zusammenarbeit mit dem ungarischen Rebenzüchter Zsigmond Teleki die nach ihm benannte berühmte Kober 5 BB (auch Teleki 5 BB"). Diese wurde zu einer der erfolgreichsten Unterlagen, auf der zahlreiche andere auf der ganzen Welt gezüchtete Unterlagsreben basierten.
