      8vo., First Edition, with frontispiece and numerous illustrations (a number full-page) in the text, endpapers and half-title browned, neat contemporary signature on frontispiece recto; original green pictorial cloth, upper board and backstrip elaborately lettered and blocked in gilt and colours, gilt edges, upper hinge tender (but binding wholly sound), a bright, clean copy. Vividly-written and entertaining account of five boys building a canoe (among other things) with much period practical detail in the manner of a manual. EXTREMELY SCARCE.

Book is near Fine minus, clean green cloth with bright gilt titles to spine and front board, very pronounced embossed illustrations on front board and spine, illustraion of the canoe under cover on front panel and crossed paddles on sppine, tight and square with sharp points, previous owner gift inscription on front pastedown, a few areas of very light edge wear, text is near Fine, a very solid First Edition and in collectable condition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. J.P. Rodney (illustrator).
