Leather spine is cracked, chipped and missing bottom two segments. Binding exposed. Worm holes along front gutter. Previous owner's names scattered throughout in old hand. Text block is toned and somewhat soiled. Binding quite fragile. Remains a readable copy despite aesthetic flaws. Please see photos. Printed by Daniel Lawrence in Duchess County, New York. He received a brief mention in Douglas McMurtie's History of Printing. "Particularly interesting is the press of Stanford, a Quaker community in Duchess County, where Daniel Lawrence began to print in 1802. In this year, he printed the American Spelling-Book by Asa Rhodes.".
